I like limericks. And I have been trying to think of reasons why I would want to visit the image assets of this memory system. E.g. To revise the 1000 woman images; and I thought that it would be good if they occur in a game: games are interesting.
Even flashcards are a kind of game: a memory test game. But why not have the images in more of an arcade game or adventure quest game scenario?
I then had the idea that the people could be imagined saying a line of a limerick so that it takes 5 people in sequence to say the 5 lines of a limerick. I tried to make the limericks fun but sometimes they are just informational; even so, I like the way a limerick has a decisive finish in the final line. For example:
Edward Lear Limerick
Edward Lear wrote a limerick
Back in 1846.
The rhyming scheme shown
Was already known
But through him that name came to stick.
Abba
There once was a Swede named Bjorn
Who wanted a pop band to form.
So he wrote down song lines
With AABBA rhyme
But a band name he could not brainstorm.
So here are limericks about historical figures. If you know the basics about why each person is well known, it makes each limerick more enjoyable.
Being rhymes makes them quite memorable; and I feel like learning the funny ones..
Moses
There once was a prophet named Moses
Who needed some medical doses.
He asked for a tablet

To find women to bear him sons

That's why he invented the light.
The reason, you see
Is he needed to wee
At 3am every night

By a tree the Buddha did sit;
To ponder why life can be shit.
Don't seek little; nor excess;
How best to express this?;
"This poem's gone on far too long and without a rhyme ending!"
Cyrus the Great
Cyrus the Great was Persian
Who loved to make an incursion.
In Asia at least
By Europe he ceased
It sounded like a Marathon.

For King Darius, I made a poem.
Cos no-one appears to know him
He sent troops by the ton,
But at Marathon
His plans didn't quite scan.

Thank Xenophon; and
Plato for his philosophies.

Hippocrates, a doctor in Greece,
Said, “Your symproms are sure to cease.
Get some sleep, you'll be fine;
Go easy on wine!
And don't eat so much feta cheese!”
Plato
I am such a big fan of Plato
So I want to sculpt a momento
Through his wise eyes
Reality's a disguise
I've no clay so I guess I'll use Play-doh.
Aristotle
Aristotle said what was ethical.
And was known for his ideas political.
Must I draw you a graph?
Was he a polymath?
Don't answer! I'm being rhetorical.
Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great
Conquered lands state by state.
In his world Hellenistic;
He shared Greek linguistics; and

Than a tomb with an army beside ya.
Did he fix porcelain
To make a living?
No, but he unified China.
